The term Sekundarstufe I refers to the first six years in the senior high school ( Gymnasium), for pupils aged 10 to 16, and Sekundarstufe II is applied to the sixth form level, also called the Oberstufe . The sixth form is a three-year programme of study leading to the final leaving certificate, for which students must choose main and subsidiary subjects. In general two or three foreign languages are taught at the Gymnasium . |
